With the last two matches of the season done and dusted, its now time to go back, do the final counts and reveal who wins this years Rebel Rant Medal.


In a game that initially looked promising for the Rebels, there were several players who stood out in this encounter.

11 carries and six tackles in the trenches, Fainga'a capped off a good day with a try.

2 votes: Luke Jones
16 carries, three defenders beaten, 68 metres and five tackles.

3 votes: Tom English
117 metres, 10 carries, four defenders beaten, two clean breaks, six tackles and a try; English takes the maximum votes for this week.


It was a poor game to finish off the 2014 year for Melbourne, but the votes must be given and these were the best players.

The man of the match from the week before backed himself up with another good game. 72 metres made from 12 carries and three defenders beaten.

2 votes: Jack Debreczeni
The young and impressive utility back played at flyhalf and did well with his 51 metres, beating three defenders and tackling nine times. He also had seven kicks and scored a try in the first half, converting it himself.

3 votes: Telusa Veainu
A game-high 84 metres and 14 carries for the Rebels team, a huge seven defenders beaten and a clean break, Veainu impressed in one of his few outings at fullback.
