Among all of the serious stuff going on with the Melbourne Rebels in the lead up to the 2014 Super Rugby season Ė you know ... a new captain, a new coach, new players, and pre-season training Ė there is one pressing issue that is being widely spoken about up in the bleachers of AAMI Park: Jordy Reidís dreadlocks.†
Reid and his head of hair first made an appearance in round 3 of last season against the Waratahs, and the young flanker went on to play 9 games with the team in an impressive debut season. Reid is looking to back that up with an even better year in 2014 as part of the Rebels front pack; but the wild mane on his head has caught the attention of Rebels and union fans alike.
Credit must be given where credit is due, that thing is impressive. The length and thickness of it is sure to make anyone whose scalp is thinning out a little jealous. Although for some people, dreadlocks can be a contentious subject. There seems to be an obvious divide in public opinion when it comes to the dreads Ėsome think itís stylish, others think it is ... well, maybe not-so stylish.†
So the questions must be thrown out to the Rebels faithful: do you like Jordyís do? Should it stay or should it go?
